About Us

My Pet Garden (MPG) opened in July of 2007 and was built around the idea that if any of us can’t look you in the eye and tell you it will be great for your pet we won’t sell it. We are your one-stop-shop for all things dogs and cats. MPG was created by a local family, and is run by the same family today. We love our community and are endlessly grateful for the trust you place in us. Caring for your four legged babies is the biggest honor, thank you for being part of our family and making us part of yours. 

Ruth left the corporate world in 2012 to join day to day life at MPG. She joined our amazing store manager, Christina, and they have run the show ever since. Christina is part of the family, the two make business trips a family affair and all the kids join! Ruth and Joel’s daughter, Elsa, grew up at the store. She now helps her mom and (basically) sister with management. At the end of 2023, the MPG family grew when Elsa welcomed her baby girl into the world.  

MPG was founded on the idea of offering only the finest selection of foods. As a former Zoo Keeper, Owner Joel Tatom discovered the quickest and surest way to elevate both the quality and longevity of an animal is through providing the very best in nutrition and care. Our wide selection of Holistic, grain free, organic, or raw foods will provide the optimal diet for your dog’s specific needs. Whether they are finicky eaters, older or have a food allergy we know how to find the optimal diet for your best friends every need.

Our Ultra Gentle Pet Grooming is designed to provide your pet with a great groom & great comfort. Our services can take longer as we will never rush the groom or put harsh heat on your pet. We focus on keeping your dog or cat as relaxed as possible, minimizing stress, and having  continuous positive grooming experiences.

Doggy daycare is one of the best ways to socialize your pooch. MPG Doggy Daycare For Small & Medium Dogs and is just plain hysterical fun. MPG DDC is staffed with folks that actually play with your dogs. You will not find them standing around a yellow bucket & mop on their cell phones, they are too busy having fun with the pooches. Your furry companion will get several walks a day! When your pet is in our care, they are our family. We love getting to care for them and spending holidays with them! 

Today MPG has reached local recognition as the best Pet Shop, Pet Grooming and Doggy Daycare around because of the AMAZING MPG staff. We’ve won Best of Pasadena Pet Store and Pet Service for most of the last decade! No where on the planet will you find a more caring and knowledgeable group!
